چکیده

—In this paper, we consider a digital radio mondiale (DRM) system using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) with coherent detection at the receiver. The DRM pilots are two-dimensional distribution, linear interpolation and Wiener filter interpolation respectively used in the time and frequency domain as the channel estimation algorithm. We propose a low-complexity improved Wiener filter coefficient algorithm to estimate the OFDM channels. Our proposed algorithm differs from traditional algorithms in two ways. Firstly, we divide the DRM pilots into n groups to estimate the channel responses of corresponding OFDM subcarriers (instead of exploiting the whole pilot at the same time in traditional algorithms). Secondly, we utilize the uniform distribution characteristic of the DRM pilots to reduce the number of Wiener filter coefficients, and this effectively leads to a reduction in computation complexity. In addition, simulation results are also presented to gain further insights.

Channel Estimation and CFO Compensation in OFDM System Using Adaptive Filters in Wavelet Transform Domain

Abstarct In this paper, combination of channel, receiver frequency-dependent IQ imbalance and carrier frequency offset estimation under short cyclic prefix (CP) length are considered in OFDM system. An adaptive algorithm based on the set-membership filtering (SMF) algorithm is used to compensate for these impairments. In short CP length, per-tone equalization (PTEQ) structure is used to avoid i...

Integration Scheme for SINS/GPS System Based on Vertical Channel Decomposition and In-Motion Alignment

Accurate alignment and vertical channel instability play an important role in the strap-down inertial navigation system (SINS), especially in the case that precise navigation has to be achieved over long periods of time. Due to poor initialization as well as the cumulative errors of low-cost inertial measurement units (IMUs), initial alignment is not sufficient to achieve required navigation ac...

Adaptive MAP Detection via the EM Algorithm for LDPC-Coded MIMO-OFDM Mobile Communications

This paper proposes an iterative maximum a posteriori probability (MAP) receiver for multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) mobile communications. For exploiting the space, time, and frequency diversity, the lowdensity parity-check code (LDPC) is used as a channel coding with a builtin interleaver. The receiver employs the expectation maximiz...

Channel Estimation with Superimposed Pilot Sequence

For the purpose of various synchronization tasks (including carrier phase, time, frequency, and frame synchronization), one may add a known pilot sequence, typically a pseudo-noise sequence, to the unknown data sequence. This approach is known as a spread-spectrum pilot technique or as a superimposed pilot sequence technique. In previous work, we applied the superimposed pilot sequence techniqu...
